The Firm’s engagement mandate has involved advisory services as well as dispute resolution from companies in iron & steel, aluminum, base metals and coal mining industry.

The Firm has advised global giants on acquisition of mining rights, establishment of greenfield steel plants and aluminum smelters in India. The Firm has also advised its clients on transfer of mineral concessions and has drafted the accompanying documents. Clients have also engaged the Firm to carry out due-diligence of mining properties and negotiation of mining agreements.

Dispute Resolution engagements have included representation of clients in the High Court and Supreme Court challenging the process of grant/rejection of mineral concessions and fixation of royalty & rents by the Government. The Firm has also represented its clients in disputes arising from mining agreements.

Client companies have also engaged the Firm for defending the company and its officials in cases of default under various legislations related to mining.
